Face to Face Lesson

Digital Samaritan Netiquette Campaign

You were asked in a previous lesson, what is missing from the tips in the infographic or what should have been emphasized. Now is your chance to create a campaign to promote what you think are the key elements that teens need to recognize when going online.

The Task:

In your partners or groups of 3, you are going to create a Digital Samaritan Netiquette Campaign. What do you think would be the most effective way to capture the attention of teens and get your point across? Choose one of the suggestions below, or consider another approach for your campaign and share it with your teacher.

1. Meme Poster Series: Create a series of 5 memes that explore the key aspects of netiquette. Try to incorporate a faith perspective in at least one of the memes. To create the memes, you can use: PowerPoint, an online meme generator, Adobe Spark Post, or apps such as, A Beautiful Mess or Pic Collage, or another app/tool of your choice. Ensure that the image you choose fits the theme (makes sense) and is appropriate.

2. Digital Poster Series: Create a series of 5 Digital Posters with quotes that reflect connecting our faith to the online world. You may choose to use quotes from the Bible, quotes from Pope Francis or saints. In your poster, show the connection between the quote and what you learned about netiquette. This connection can be through the images or even through a series of hashtags (that help to explain the connection).

3. Video Project: Create a movie trailer  or 1 minute short video that will help to teach teens the important aspects of netiquette and why they should care.

To help you, be sure to refer back to the information and prayers shared in this module regarding digital etiquette (or netiquette).
